Chattanooga State Community College
Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Client: Dober Lidsky Mathey, Inc.
Lose & Associates Inc. partnered with Dober Lidsky Mathey, a campus planning firm, to provide overall master planning design services to Chattanooga State Community College on its 2010 Campus Master Plan. Our firm provided land use and context assessment services to analyze the existing land use patterns and the overall context of the campus. Additionally, Lose conducted pedestrian and bicycle facility assessments and vehicular and parking facility assessments. We then generated recommendations for improvements to pedestrian facilities, traffic circulation patterns and parking areas.
Landscape and open space assessments were also conducted to review the existing quality and distribution of these spaces. Recommendations for improvement were made based on current use patterns and proposed expansion of the campus. Storm drainage and hydrology assessment of existing infrastructure were performed to determine overall system conditions and effectiveness. Additionally, our firm reviewed existing jurisdictional waters and wetlands mapping, FEMA FIRM information, and other relevant records to determine the likely impact of future development. Throughout the project, Lose & Associates implemented best management practices related to sustainability issues on campus and worked with the team to develop overall sustainability recommendations.
