City of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Greenway + Blueway Master Plan

Location: Fayetteville, Tennessee
Client: City of Fayetteville, Tennessee

Kicking off in August 2014, the City of Fayetteville, Tennessee, hired Lose & Associates, Inc. to create a Greenway Blueway Master Plan for the community. The process began with research on regional planning efforts, gathering GIS data and site visits to Fayetteville. Once an analysis map was complete, Lose & Associates worked with city staff and Community Development Partners, LLC to facilitate a public workshop. At this meeting, we asked participants to sketch ideas and discuss long-term visions as well as provide input on phasing priorities.

The resulting graphic master plan and written report contains routing information for the greenway and blueway routes, recommendations for implementing the plan in phases, and information on funding sources and maintenance guidelines. This proposed alternative transportation network includes over ten miles of greenway trails, nine new trailheads and three new blueway access points. Overall, the system of improvements, with public support, is design to connect parks, schools and other community facilities as well as provide recreational opportunities and possible economic benefits to the City of Fayetteville.
