Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plans

Location: Nationwide
Client: Parks and Recreation Departments

Lose & Associates has prepared over 50 Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plans throughout the United States for communities ranging in size from a few thousand to over half a million people. Providing the framework that not only guides the development of new parks and recreation facilities, but also the programming that takes place there, these plans are community driven using a variety of public input methods. The master plan process includes a thorough demographic analysis of the community looking at the current demographic profile and projecting population trends into the future. The public input process employs a variety of presentations and open house methods as well as mail and online surveys that help gauge public perceptions and desires for the recreation system in their community. Detailed cost estimates for renovations and new park development and 10 year phasing plans are provided to allow communities to develop funding strategies for achieving their goals. Comprehensive master planning is a valuable tool that identifies a path for achieving a successful recreation delivery system.

For each project, we build a team of professionals who combine recreation management experience, local expertise, and parks and recreation facility planning expertise in order to address the overall complexity of developing a system-wide master plan.
