Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Agri-Science Lab
Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Client: Tennessee Board of Regents
Lose & Associates was asked to design a new dairy farm building for Middle Tennessee State University. This Agri-Science Lab contains four buildings totaling 42,000 SF on 450 acres that support a scientifically based, rigorous and practical curriculum to advance Dairy, Beef and Plant Production for Middle Tennessee.
The new facility affords MTSU the opportunity to place high priorities for experiential and hands-on learning experiences which include, but are not limited to, alternative fuels, food safety, viticulture, organic foods, international agriculture, animal health, animal welfare, and the use of biotechnology in animal and crop production. The Lab provides land for “outdoor rooms” that emphasize landscape design, and cultivars sought by nursery and garden centers.
