Nashville Riverfront Park

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Client: Metro Parks and Recreation and MDHA

Lose & Associates led a multifaceted design team to redevelop Nashville’s East Bank connection to the Cumberland River. The design plans included a new commercial landing for riverboats, an articulated, concrete mat “beach” for improved pedestrian, kayak and canoe access to the river, improvements to existing floating docks, ADA compliant ramps to access all of these features and a series of new plaza and overlook spaces to experience the Cumberland River. Above the bank of the River, a new flexible lawn space was created adjacent to the NFL Titans Stadium to accommodate a host of daily recreation activities, enhance tailgating on game days and hold community gatherings. The lawn space is complimented by a “grove” of densely planted shade trees in a granite plaza with movable tables and chairs.
