Nashville, Tennessee, Trails and Greenways

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Beginning in 1992, and continuing through the present, Lose & Associates has developed master plans and construction documents for numerous greenways around Nashville.  Projects included segments of the Boscobel Heights Greenway,  Mill Creek Greenway, and Harpeth River Greenway.  Most notable, Lose & Associates completed designs for over 10 miles of the Metro Nashville Stones River Greenway, the longest segment of Nashville’s greenway system. On this project, we provided the complete development of the greenway and all design and permitting elements (including wayfinding signage hierarchy, trails, trailheads, bridges, tunnels, etc.). Review agencies included the City of Nashville, USACE, FEMA and TDOT. This greenway was featured in the October 13, 2005 issue of Newsweek Magazine in its feature on “Healthy Hearts.” During all phases of development, we worked closely with Metro Nashville’s ADA codes enforcement agency to ensure that all phases met the current guidelines for outdoor facilities and trails.
