Reedy Creek Greenbelt

Location: Kingsport, Tennessee
Client: City of Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department

Lose & Associates worked with the City of Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department to provide an update to their Greenbelt Master Plan for a section of the Reedy Creek Greenbelt using Federal Recreational Trails Program Grants (RTP) funding. This section of the Master Plan runs from Eastman Road at East Stone Commons Shopping Center to John B. Dennis Highway.

As part of the project scope, Lose & Associates evaluated the existing boardwalk and documented areas in need of repair and enhancement. Items identified included repairing pathways to meet ADA accessibility, specifying locations for new signage to improve wayfinding, noting bench and trash receptacles to be replaced and addressing areas with drainage issues. We also designed a conceptual layout for a new trailhead, boardwalk and parking lot improvements. Project deliverables included illustrative plans, an image board and an opinion of probable cost for the proposed improvements.
