Tucker Empson Building Improvements

Location: Cheatham County, Tennessee
Client: Cheatham County

This project consisted of multiple improvements to an existing County General Services building for Cheatham County. The primary goals of this project were to eliminate water penetration into the building and to provide a new civil appearance to the building which was originally a local grocery store and pharmacy. During construction, this building remained in operation and housed sensitive County paper documents, tax collections, and the local building codes department.

The area designated for renovation was 10,000 square feet and the scope of improvements included: replacing the existing membrane EPDM roofing and insulation, metal fascia, gutter, and downspouts; providing a new light-gauge metal truss system and standing seam metal roof; applying new EIFS and precast stone water table to the exterior single wythe CMU walls; removal and replacement of the entry canopy system; replacement of a 240 ft. long retaining wall; minor adjustments to site parking; replacement of building HVAC systems; exterior lighting replacement; and building envelope sealant.
