Wave Country Aquatics

Location: Nashville, TN
Client: Metropolitan Nashville Parks & Recreation

Lose & Associates was selected to master plan and develop construction documents for several phases of renovations to Nashville’s Wave Country Pool and Recreation Park facilities. The project included the renovation and expansion of the pool deck with new rubberized surfacing, addition of large shade umbrellas, and various site furnishings. Old bathrooms were demolished and replaced with modern amenities. A new concession building replaced the old and a food court area was added. Also included in the project was the reorganization of the entrance sequence with a new ticketing building. All buildings were designed to capture the look of an old-fashioned Florida beach resort. The project was developed in several phases over several summers in order to minimize disruption. Eventually, we developed plans to expand the aquatic amenities with large speed slides. Over the course of the improvements, attendance increased from 74,000 to 104,183 in a two year span and revenues increased from $502,000 to $946,408 in the same years.
