Hal and Bernie Hanson Regional Park
Location: Loudoun County, Virginia
In the fall of 2015, the Lose & Associates, team was selected to develop of construction drawings for the new Hal and Bernie Hanson Regional Park, Loudoun County, Virginia. This 250-acre regional park will feature both natural turf and artificial turf soccer fields, a youth baseball complex, a cricket field and tennis courts. In addition to athletic fields the park will have two amphitheaters, two dog park, a large splash pad, two playgrounds, outdoor courts and a skate park. Passive park facilities will include a nature center, a lakeside lodge, paved and natural surface trails and a disc golf course.
A home on the National Register of Historic Building is being renovated as part of the project. Five existing lakes on the property are being restored and will be used for irrigation of the park. The budget for the project is $44,000,000.00. Plan production is underway and bidding for the project is scheduled for November of 2017.
